Station Review #70: Gregg Street Loop (SEPTA)

Gregg Street Loop is a bus loop operated by SEPTA. The loop is located very close to the intersection of Frankford Avenue and Linden Avenue in the Torresdale neighborhood of Philadelphia.

Services

One of the two bus stop signs at the bus loop

There are three bus services that stop at Gregg Street Loop, these include:

Route 66: Frankford Transportation Center to City Line Loop via Frankford Avenue. Some trips end at Gregg Street Loop instead of going all the way to City Line Loop

Route 70: Fern Rock Transportation Center to Torresdale-Cottman or Gregg Street Loops via Cottman Avenue. Some trips continue past Torresdale-Cottman Loop to Gregg Street Loop via Torresdale Avenue and State Road, linking the 70 to Upper Holmesburg.

Route 88: Gregg Street Loop to Frankford Transportation Center via Rowland Avenue. This bus was extended from Pennypack Woods to Gregg St. Loop sometime around 2018 or so.

Bus Connections

Additionally, Routes 19 (Frankford Transportation Center to Torresdale Station via Grant Avenue) and 20 (Philadelphia Mills Mall or Parx Casino to Frankford Transportation Center) is within walking distance, especially for express trips on route 20.

The main facilities of the loop itself

There's not much at Gregg Street loop, much like any other SEPTA bus loop.

A trolleybus, and the break facilities

The inside of the shelter, similar to City Line Loop

The bus maps, also similar to City Line Loop.

There are two of these steel prism fixtures that have maps of the bus routes on them. Note that route 88 is not shown due to how old these are. There is instead one for route 66 and another for route 70. Both maps are completely outdated, and the map for route 70 is incorrect, considering that it lists a bus connection of the 57 as another connection for the 47.

Both of the two bus signs have metal versions of the SEPTA "S" on top of them.

There even are bike racks here, which is also pretty neat.
