Tour
The full station
There's not much here of note. This is essentially a trolley stop in the middle of a residential area. Most of the people who use this live nearby.
The outbound shelter is very small. This is common for a lot of SEPTA D1/D2 stations, or really a lot of tram/trolley/streetcar stations in general.
The inbound shelter is larger, but not by a huge margin. Still, it's enough that multiple people can actually have shelter at once in the rain. This is typical for many older D1/D2 stations as well. This shelter was probably made in the early 1900s, considering that many of those stations on both lines have the same stone shelter designs.
Bus Connections
There is one bus connection near Marshall Road:
- 107 - Lawrence Park to 69th Street Transit Center: this bus connection is shared with 69th Street Transit Center and Garrettford station, and seems to essentially be four bus routes frankenstined together. it's so bad that it becomes far shorter and less deviatory when it detours for any reason. Garrettford is the easiest station to connect to it from
Points of Interest Near Marshall Road Station
Marshall Road and Burmount Road
There's not much here, but that's not nothing. Going northeast along Marshall Road is the intersection of Marshall and Burmount, which has a barber shop, a bar, and a automotive repair shop. Going southwest is what might be a trail leading to the Lower Swedish Cabin. The Lower Swedish Cabin is a cabin built sometime between 1640 and 1650, and is one of the oldest European-built buildings in the US. Between all of these places and the station is fairly dense housing stock.
