Station Review #16: West Chester Transportation Center (SEPTA/ChescoBus)

Image
West Chester Transportation Center is a bus station located in downtown West Chester, PA. The bus station is located directly next to numerous shops, among other things. The station is located inside a seven floor parking garage, on the first floor.  Parking Garage Tour Front of West Chester Transportation Center As mentioned earlier, West Chester Transportation Center is located in a parking garage, taking up the first floor. It has two lanes for buses to lay over with multiple berths. Each lane has at least one bench to sit on One of these lanes Another lane, with the sign for the station At each berth, there is a sign saying what routes layover there on the top. In the middle of the center, there is a large sign with route information for the routes that stop at West Chester Transportation Center.  SCCOOT information An interesting thing to note is that the signs very obviously haven't been updated much since they were

Station Review #15: Roslyn (SEPTA)

Image
Sign Roslyn is a SEPTA train station located in Roslyn, Abington, PA, on the Warminister Line. The station is located along Easton Road, right outside a railroad crossing, and the intersection of Easton road and Susquehanna road.  Tour of a Greenhouse Not dated at all! While going down a hill on Easton Road, you spot this building. Immediately upon looking at it, the look of the building itself intrigues you. Depending on who you are, and your tastes, you think this building is one of two things, beautiful or hideous. It's not in the middle, this building is very divisive.  The station is on the side of a large hill off of Susquehanna road, a road that is fairly scenic due to the sheer amount of hills on it. You can tell this just based on the giant hill behind the station (and the Giant store as well).  The view behind the station Going to the station itself from Easton Road, you see a wooden staircase, like the one somewhere like Philmont stati

Station Review #14: Wilmington (Greyhound)

Image
Schedule changes on the door Greyhound has a bus station in Wilmington. It's not the largest bus station that they've had, but at least it still exists. Let's look around inside! Tour Side of the building. The outside of the building is made to fit in with the rest of the Furness Transit district, anchored by  Wilmington (Amtrak/SEPTA) . Thus, it attempts to look like it's made of red bricks, failing miserably at doing this upon closer inspection. To enter, you must go to the other side of the building.  Going inside the building, you enter to see a large number of chairs, and not much else. There is a vending machine or two, bathrooms, and an American flag, and that's all you get. There is so much empty space here. Greyhound didn't even add a TV, or anything similar for waiting customers.  Much of the area you wait in Ad for the Greyest Hound on the window of the Greyhound waiting station Rest of the s

Station Review #13: Wilmington (AMTRAK/SEPTA)

Wilmington station is a train station located in Wilmington, Delaware. Wilmington both has Amtrak intercity trains to destinations along the northeast corridor (or really, for the other trains that use the northeast corridot to go to places like New York City that only stop there  because Wilmington is the largest city in Delaware) and SEPTA local trains going northbound to Philadelphia or southbound to Newark, Delaware.  Wilmington Station is one of 8 stations in SEPTA's network that also have Amtrak service, a moniker shared with 30th St, Ardmore, Cornwell Heights, Downingtown, Newark, North Philadelphia, and Trenton (this will become 9 when Coatesville station service opens).  History The old station that the current station replaced Trains have been going to Philadelphia and Baltimore via Wilmington for decades before the current station was built, seven to be exact. For a few of those decades, the old station shown above was used as the train station. I
